Wednesday 8 October today we left Bucharest for Veliko Tărnovo. Enroute we stopped to visit the Ivanovo Rock hewn Churches which are included in the UNESCO list Of World and Cultural Heritage. After slowly climbing a rather steep gradient we reached the main church in the rock. The frescos were amazing as were the views across the limestone canyon which had been carved by rivers thousands of years ago. The walk down the steps saw our knees ...

... to thrive with new buildings and a nice walk way by the river developing into a cafe lined oasis. We were even treated to some fine examples of living statues in the town one evening  The roads are getting better but still have some way to go. We are even getting a roundabout! As helpful as travel guidebooks are, the places travelers truly love to go rarely can be found within their pages. Yesterday, a fellow hosteller asked if I wanted to go to the UFO. I was intrigued, and after a few questions on the details (and to cagily verify his sanity), I was ready to go. Five of us would leave after breakfast to be taken by private guide to a place some travelers come all the way to Bulgaria just to see. That was all I knew, and all ...

... to go down the mountain slowly. Slow doesn't work for me. I zoomed down the mountain and felt so free. I was hooked. The next day we got our lift tickets and spent all day skiing all over the slopes.
We stuck to the green lines mostly, but eventually felt ballsy and decided to try out the blue. That's when I lost them.
I went first and flew down the steep decline only to turn around and be alone. I lost Tatiana and Amanda. I waited for about ...
