... our tummies full and it was time to go to the concert that started in a half hour. Already too late. The line was soooo long but we chanced waiting to see if we could still get in. We made it but standing room only as the stadium was totally filled. We both loved the Doobie Brothers but we were not expecting much from a free concert at a state fair. ... of the moon. It was one of the nights of the full, honey colored moon so when I finished working I sat outside on a lawn chair staring up at how incredible it looked. There were a lot of choppy clouds out too so it made for a really cool show watching the moon continuously disappear behind a cloud and then pop out again a few seconds later. Sitting out there that night has been one of my favorite moments from this trip and one I hope to hold onto as a great memory.

It is a vast ocean of lava flows with scattered island of cinder cones and sagebrush. It is a weird scenic landscape that looks apocalyptic; like a set for the movie Mad Max with Mel Gibson.
