... at Inverness. It has 8 locks within 500 yards and allows larger boats and cruises and opens up the inland/highlands to the ocean. It was something we particularly wanted to see and do and weren't disappointed. Went on a couple of mountain and loch walks and found the Claichaig Inn in magnificent country and it was also featured in a Harry Potter movie. We dropped in here on a couple of occasions. We also went ...

... thicker and we could not see a thing from the rampart. The crown jewel rooms were interesting sand the dragoon guards and also the war memorial especially after our visit to the Somme! Driving in Edinburgh proved to be our biggest challenge thus far. None of the roads seem to follow a set pattern, but instead zig-zag all over the place and abruptly narrow so that they are barely wide enough for one car to pass, let alone two. We located the B&B where we ...

Sad-times earlier this week as I had to temporarily say goodbye to my wonderful Frog (The nickname affectionately given to my Fiat Multipla by my family). The Frog sets sail on the 26th of June and I will be able to track it's sea voyage to Dar Es Salaam (Tanzania), where it will be loaded onto a car transporter for its onward journey to Lusaka. All being well, I should see it again some 5255 miles away in a different continent on August 5th.
      A quick special ...
