      ... in her element. First we had a small smoked salmon entree and then a three tier tower full off savoury goodies. We worked our way through the savouries and were nearly finished off at that stage. Then they brought out a three tier tower of all sorts of fabulous cakes and we started to work our way through that. This shop was huge and went on and on and after a half hour of looking at much tartan (taking special note of the Macdonald and Robertson blankets, quilts, scarves, ties, books, coats and so much more), cashmere everything, bagpipes and many many magnets of every Scottish shape and size we emerged with tartan hats (tams) for three.

    • As all around the world apparently, the weather is going crazy up here in the north of the UK as well. Yesterday snow and sunshine appeared to play cat and mouse. Today, it hasn't stopped snowing. Almost non-stop. Resulting in a beautiful white carpet, crackling beneath your feet when wandering through the city. I'm lovin' it!
