Sunday the 9th August and three weeks to go before our trip to Italy. At the moment nothing is booked although we have identified a really lovely villa in the town of Cortona. ... Saint Richard had a similar experience getting the same advice on driving from Cousin Louise. Cousin Louise gave me a new list of rules on how to be a good husband. ... and if someone did break the speed limit they stood out like a sore thumb! There is, quite rightly, a zero tolerance on speeding near schools or school buses but an interesting development is that children as young as 8 act as school lollipop wardens, and god help anyone that fails to obey an 8 year old!!!! ... take the bus to Lincoln. It has become a tradition that on my birthday, Kathleen treats herself to something or other, usually new clothes. But today, try as she might she cannot find anything she likes. Eventually, we return to the pub we visited on Tuesday, "Widow Cullens Well", on Steep Hill, and have a very enjoyable lunch, with copious amounts of wine.
