Loaded the Boomer with all our gear and set off around the dreaded "biggest car park in the world" (M 25) and then reached Stisted, near Braintree in Essex. After enjoying our rest day in Scarborough last Monday, we continued our trip south in mild, sunny weather, down through eastern Yorkshire and ending the day just southwest of Bridlington, with its beautiful white cliffs not unlike the white cliffs of Dover.

We said goodbye to Cornwall this morning and started our 5 hour trip to Renuf. We also experienced M42 gridlock. On a four lane highway we came to a stop resulting in our 5 hour trip taking 8 hours. ... has money….there were more Porsches in the car park than we’d seen anywhere else and the town was very well preserved with some lovely Georgian houses along the street. It also had a huge Cathedral and next to it was the ‘Archbishops Palace’….the remnant of what was once a great building. Cardinal Wolsley & King Charles 11 (?) both spent their last days here before they were taken to London for trial.
