... me with a birthday cake, which was really a surprise since my birthday isn't til the end of the month.

John and Mike lined the motor homes up in our driveway the night before so that we could pack and be ready to go in the morning. They are lined up "buddy" style so that our awnings are together. Some of the campgrounds offer these type of sites, so we are going to try to do this as often as possible, especially if we are staying more than one ...

... for how to get to our guide and hosts house - Marvin - he would be waiting outside for us. We had a little time so we walked down the Main Street to the information centre. The town had a strange feeling. The shops looked old and didn't seem to have anything modern in them. But across the road there was an IGA! Happy birthday to my love and my favorite clown, John! We celebrated after the show with wine, junk food, and four episodes of "Girls". A very lovely day which would have only been lovelier if we could have spent it with friends and family back home. But everyone sent John wonderful birthday greetings throughout the entire day, so I know we weren't far from people's thoughts. :)

... lots of Amish made quilts and souvenirs for sale. All three shops are run and owned by the Amish.
A short drive down the road and we were in Arthur where we had 2 hours to wander the shops (one street long) for some bargains. I found an old quilt in Yoders Lamps and Antiques so of course I had to have it!!!! It's in great condition...white background with double Irish ...

... This afternoon, we met up with Cody, our sponsor contact, his Chief, and three other firemen to take over the town Taylorville. We were all armed with flyers and we made sure that every single business in the downtown square knew about the upcoming show and took flyers to hand out to their patrons. We went into a bank and lo and behold! the tellers didn’t hit their panic buttons! ;) They loved having a clown visit them so much, John did a short show and made them ...
