    ... drove by the lovely Catskill park, walked in the little town of Hudson where we ate a hamburger in a very American style diner, aluminium counter and little stools.

    He took me to the Olana state historic site, the house and estate of a famous landscape painter, Frederick Church, I downloaded one picture (of course not allowed to take pictures), and I accompanied him to an auction, I love to see the auctioneer going fast and hitting the hammer!

    ... for sure since tonight was a write-off in the way of getting things done. If it's really too late we can stay here another night I'm sure although we have not asked- this is actually the first night that we pay to stay in a marina so I guess it's not the end of the world if we have to stay on one more. Without even walking far off the marina grounds there is already more at our fingertips here than in most places we have been lately. We'll see what tomorrow ...

    ... decided to ruin it all by barking at passersby and causing major soup spillage on Tim and me. We called it a night and packed up dinner to go, bidding Woodstock farewell after our all too brief visit (a cute little town lined with specialty shops and adorable restaurants).     ... and sidled up alongside his sister, taking co-lead. I can't say I didn't have the occasional thought of being disemboweled by a bear, but mostly I took pleasure in the serene silence of the woods and observing the sun dappled forest milieu. I was disappointed when it was time to head back, but I didn't want to miss the end of Tim's race.
