Although the rooms are small, the location is convenient from Paddington but it DOES NOT include breakfast although they do will offer you a very overpriced one downstairs which I would not recommend. We arrived from an early flight and they were able to accommodate an early check-in which we really appreciated. This is our second time at a Shaftesbury which we find perfect for an overnighter in London.

We were just a smallish group, probably 10-15. And started off in a courtyard. Our guide tells us that the cemetery was built in the Victorian era when there was a burial crisis. Too many dying people and not enough ground space. Eventually the idea of the great 7 was developed and set up.
