... 400 hundred year old pub. Our four hour trip turned into seven!!! We only had that planned for today so it didn't really matter. The castle began its life as a pig farm in Saxon times but soon became a moated manor house. The only original remaining part of the castle today is part of the moat. Over the years it has been used as a prison camp for French sailors between 1756-1763 and as housing and employment for poor men in 1796. It was repaired in ...

Tess thought she was in ...

... just outside Oxford. Her cottage was built circa 1880 and is absolutely gorgeous. We had a cuppa and some lunch with Penny at her house and caught up with what we are all doing and have been doing over the last few years. After lunch we caught the bus into Oxford and had a walk around the University buildings, very nice. We stopped by the pub that Bob Hawke ...

Up bright and early for our drive to Bridgnorth. This town was recommended by my workmate and friend Dee, who is a Bridgnorth girl herself, living in Australia. She speaks of the place with much fondness and is constantly telling me what a beautiful town it is. She is absolutely right!

The drive from Cheltenham to Bridgnorth is approximately an hour and three quarters. For some reason, driving in the UK from town to town makes the ...
