Climbing Mt Rinjani

A travel blog entry by keeleymclaren on Sep 18, 2014

We avoided plenty of taxi drivers all competing for our custom and hopped on the shuttle bus to Sengiggi. We changed buses along the way and an hour and a half later we arrived in the centre and checked into a room. It wasn't as hot as Dubai but definitely felt more humid. Our last night on Gili T was spent in a different homestay with a beautiful outside bathroom. We got up early the next morning to leave for ...

We were all lying pool side chatting all day, I needed a small nap with my headphones in. Whilst doing so I kind of hit that gap between awake and asleep where you day dream but see stuff. I sat up confused and suggested a mushroom sunset to the guys, they thought ...

Today was a bit of a slow start and unclear. Ketut had told me that I'd be co-teaching with a local teacher, Madi, with a group of 20 twelve year olds. However, upon Madi’s arrival he didn’t seem to have a clue who I was, and what I was doing so I was told to wait until Ketut came back from his errands at noon. As I hadn’t had a chance to look around the village and nearby surroundings my roommate, Jen, gave me ...
