... we would have all loved to of stayed at the beachfront for longer, we knew that the tide was going out, so we had to get moving. With our previous kayaking experience, Chris and I manoeuvred our way around the rocks and coral poking out above the water, whereas Becci and Beth managed to get themselves beached! We powered on determined to make it back to our starting point as soon as possible. It was now late afternoon and having been very physically active all day, our ...

Many things in Indonesia just don't make sense, to hire a snorkel for an hour on the beach is 4 pounds, but a 5 hour boat trip was a fiver including a snorkel. The morning was great, baking hot sunshine and perfect clear water over the reefs, but by the afternoon, a storm swept in while having lunch and changed ...

Definitely not chilly around the Gilis!

... both Gili T and Gili Air in order to experience both sides of the Gilis. I certainly needed some chill-out time following the volcano ordeal and to rid my legs of the wretched Rinjani Hobble. On Gili T (population 800), we stayed in our first dorm room of the trip so far... a dive school/hostel. Full of young, cool, hip divers raring for the sea aboard the hostel 's BIG DUDE. Annabel took advantage of this whilst I took to the sunbeds ...
