... said our goodbyes and were on our way!! It's sad to say goodbye not knowing when we will see them again but we loved seeing them and spending time with them!!!
We drove for 10 hours, only stopping to fill up and switch drivers and arrived in Avon around 10pm with it being zero degrees out!!
Now we have our snowboard and winter things, we spent some time getting it all unpacked and organised before getting some sleep!!
... road, cattle, even alpacas. Plus we could go 75 mph! We passed signs - 'Warning! Do not pick up hitchhikers!' - as we passed Sterling Correctional facility in the distance and which made Grasse jail look like Club Med. Chilling. Lunch in Omaha Old Town - very attractive square, red buildings, lots of flowers and, as usual, friendly people. North Platte for the night ...
... On the way back to our place, we met up with Kris and Nikki just so Darren could give the car they wanted to buy a once over and make sure it all looked good.
Once we were home I started to get a migraine which I haven't had in a LONG time! I managed to eat but felt terrible....numbness in half my body, blurry vision, dizzy etc.... Darren was very sweet and looked after me as I was up till about 3am being sick.
... to drink, but didn't realise how slippery some of the big rocks were so had to get a helping hand a few times!
It was getting late so we headed back and enjoyed every part of the hike all over again -On the drive back, Cheyenne was so tired after a good 4 hours on the go and kept falling asleep with her head on Darrens arm rest ...very cute! As we drove off, we saw a bunch of mule deer...however we didn't see much ...

After sorting a few boring bits of paperwork out, we headed up to Beaver Creek for a hike. We did the Beaver Lake hike which is about 3 miles each way up the mountain....it was so hot so all the trees were welcome shade for us. Once we reached the lake, we found a spot to sit and had a homemade energy bar. It was pretty quiet up there with only a few other people around the lake so it was really peaceful and ...
