... is very unusual. They were U. S. Coast Guard boats with manned machine guns on the deck. We couldn't believe it!

It was only after dinner that we heard of the bombing that day at the Boston Marathon. I guess they were taking no chances with any of the cruise ships. There was a reason they remained alongside until we left. Thank you, Coast Guard security.
