... We have met some lovely people this trip and some we have met before and have built on that friendship. ... was standard. Michael and Larry are still working on a replacement for Mark, the dean who left. Nothing yet, so we're trying to juggle shifts across the offices to make sure everything gets covered. And it turns out that one of the PAs from Corpus has to leave tomorrow to go to Paris to get her new Visa or something, so they will be down another person while she is gone. I feel like the universe is playing a joke on us.

... Camera all featured on the tour. As did the copy of Venice's Bridge of Sighs, but I will let the boys tell you which College and why this particular bridge (that simply links two buildings) was constructed.

After a little bit of free time it was back on the bus to Eton. This time, however, not back to the house but to the river Thames and to Eton's own island - Queen's Eyot. A very short boat trip across to the island ...

... which should have been great BUT ... even the affluent south east of England seems to be in the grip of austerity, bone shaker alley for about 3 miles before getting into Henley. For heaven's sake, sort these roads out, they are the pits.

after we were finished in London it was time to take the coach to Hook to see Fiona Ryan and new baby Pippa.......my little angel (devil when she is hungry though, just like her auntie Mel).
spending time catching up and having a laugh, a few glasses of wine, some of Ryan's veggie lasagne and a take away the next night. Ryan also treated us to some New Zealand sparkling wine for the occasion....very nice.
was great to see my best friend ...
