    ... a huge celebration of some sort. We were glad to be going south as the northbound lanes were completely clogged. We stopped off at our hotel in Sanur to drop off a few things so that we didn't have to carry them all the way to the Gili islands and back.

    ... it. No need for petrol stations here though! Just pull up at shops by the side of the road that have 1 litre bottles of absolute vodka or plastic 1.5 litre water bottles displayed on the side of the road. They are full of petrol and they get a fuel spout with a filter and pour it in! Easy!
