A travel blog entry by famlitz on Oct 26, 2015

Blue skies, no clouds and three mosquito bites. What a way to wake up. But I would rather wake up to a mosquito bite than being bitten by a scorpion. We killed a second one last night. Not quite an animal you want to have closer contact with. Karsten made menemen for breakfast and we were indecisive what we wanted to do. First we ...

... It really is a must see. Check out the pictures and video for more on this. There are plenty of tourist market stalls around but pleasingly no hard sell and a polite no is enough. Smoking I think has not been banned here and I really noticed it but not enough to spoil my wandering. When I was here before, the menus were only in Greek and a trip to the kitchen to look at what was on the menu was often suggested. Now, menus are in many languages and the servers are often quite fluent in a variety of languages. No guesswork required.

... cool off. We need to dry off before heading back on the bus, and as luck would have it, there is a restaurant right on the beach serving refreshments.

We go to dinner at our hotel. On the menu - turkey! A few days early, but at least we get to eat turkey for Thanksgiving. Our after dinner stroll takes us along the waterfront. It is a beautiful, gentle night. A great way to end another great ...
