... County Hall in London for £738. We cancelled this booking for another Travelodge, London Central Kings Cross Royal Scot Travelodge for £555. No only is this motel £183 cheaper, but it is close to the underground, and very close to where we drop off our car. Quite a bit of upside and little downside. The downside being that the Premier Inn was just across The Thames from Westminster. Tomorrow it's ...

... Ray and Joan are regulars. They have lived here for 41 years. Ray is nearly 90 and Joan 88. The staff were excellent and meals were tailored to our requirements. Forget the menu. The food and company were great and we had a lovely time catching up on old times. Joan is/was a talented sculpturess, and also wrote the books "Norwich at War" and "Norwich at Peace" ...

I went back into Norwich with our camera, to take photos of many of our favourite spots, The Cathedral, Elm Hill (Annie's Father painted a picture of Elm Hill), the market, Jarrolds, and the Coleman's Mustard Shop (this mustard is made in Norfolk). We wandered around the streets of Norwich, then drove back to our motel. All the talk today was about the heat. It got up to over 30 today and tomorrow is tipped to be the hottest day on record, about 35. Another good ...

After breakfast we drove to Blickling Hall on a beautiful, sunny day. The hall itself was yet to open for the day, but we have visited there before, and our main interest was the magnificent gardens and grounds. This is a National Trust property. The cost for the garden only for non members is £8.10 each. We then drove to one of our favourite villages, Holt. There is a particular, little restaurant, Byfords, that we ...

... We have spent time there in the past, so today we gave it the time it deserved. We have had fun there in the past but tacky best describes it. We had a cuppa from our thermos and returned to our motel where we got changed before picking up Stella and Wilf. We drove them to their daughter, Andrea and her husband, Peter's home. Their daughter Katy (14), was there as was their dog Alice. We had a lovely dinner with them and then drove S & W home. Back then to our ...
