Last weekend we ventured to Killarney for a day trip. I can honestly say, when I envisioned Ireland, this was what I was picturing.
Killarney is a beautiful little town. The houses are all in a row and multicoloured. Little pubs were everywhere to be seen, and the weather acted very Irish (wet and cold, all day).

We were going to the Dingle Peninsula and to the Blasket Island Center. We had originally wanted to go to the Ring of Kerry, but Brian was advising against it. I had read somewhere that the Dingle Peninsula was better. We decided to give it a ...

Lovely hotel which excels in customer service

    from hotelopinion

My family and I stayed at the Ross Hotel, Killarney on the October bank Holiday weekend. We made a late decision to travel and were recommended this hotel by another hotel in Killarney. On arrival, we found that the family room which we had booked was allocated to another guest. The girls on reception were very apologetic and tried to book us into another hotel but everywhere was booked out. We decided to stay and they moved an extra bed in for us. From there onwards, they just couldn't do enough for us, so top marks for customer service! Service for breakfast was slow but when it finally did arrive, it was excellent. We look forward to a return visit to the Ross. The hotel has a superb location in the centre of Killarney

Boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel for 1night. Thought it was fantastic. Decor is amazing as you enter the lobby and the restaurant. Rooms lovely. Staff extremely helpful. We ate in the hotel restaurant where the food was delicous We also had full irish breakfast served to our room the next morning which was very tasty. Killarney is such a lively spot and this hotel is central to all the good pubs/clubs. Hope to stay in The Ross again!

    What a fantastic spot!!

i booked this hotel for a birthday surprise get away with my wife and what can i say ! everything about this hotel is top class from the minute we arrived. the decore of this hotel is certainly different and modern. the rooms are a fantastic size and i loved the huge flat screen tv and bathrobes provided! we booked dinner that evening in the hotel which i can only say was one of the best meals ive had this year!! food and service by friendly staff was faultless and the small birthday cake for my wife was a pleasant surprise! after dinner we retreated to the bar. again our expectations were surpassed by the comfort , decor and staff who helped me choose cocktails from a very funky list. the bar had a great atmosphere and buzz and after one too many ! i retired back to my room to sleep in a very comfy bed. for anyone coming to killarney this hotel is a must!!

    Very, very noisey

    from huda42

Stayed at the Ross last weekend. Really lovely hotel. When I checked in I asked for a quiet room and straight away the receptionst was on the defensive. I knew I had no hope. The room was really lovely with a great view of the pretty churchyard beside the hotel . However it was above the smoking area outside the bar and was so noisey that I was glad when the rain poured down at 1.30am and I didn't have to listen to one more person laughing or shouting. The bar is one of the most popular places in the town as it is really trendy but this is not good for the patrons of the hotel. Our party had taken 9 rooms that night at €220 a room and no one slept. ..Shame ..as it is a really nice place.

just back from killarney after visiting family.stayed at the Ross only for a couple of hours, simply for a meal.you would think you were walking into a hotel on Rodeo Drive, the place is magnificent.just coming to an end of the refurb and i doubt any could say,it left us breathless!our food was lovely, well served with friendly, helpful staff.i would definately stay over next time as i imagine the rooms are breath taking.

    Pity about the noise

    from CathSu

Lovely hotel, funky decor, extremely friendly , helpful staff but the noise was unbearable. It's such a pity but I wouldn't stay there again due to the noise factor. We stayed there on a Saturday night and we were kept awake until closing time (pubs) ie 2am. We were just nodding off when the bar staff started emptying bottle into bins right below our bedroom window.

As I said beautiful hotel but there is no excuse for the extent of the noise.

    Due to reopen in July.
