... who work there whenever we are in Otley.

This morning we mooched around OtleyTuesday market with Barbara, Jill and Gary.
Of course we stopped for coffee at Hebe's, and went into Weegmanns for pork pies for Paul and Jill. We also hit most of the charity shops in town and I finally found a cup and saucer that kinda matches the tea set I bought here about ten years ago.

After an English Breakfast (pretty close to the Scottish one), we left our home on the farm and drove to Fountains Abbey. Founded in 1132, the abbey operated for over 400 years, until 1539, when Henry VIII ordered the Dissolution of the Monasteries. ... we stopped for lunch by the lake.
From there we headed east via the Western Dales to Richmond - a slow trip a times due to narrow winding roads. We had planned to spend 2 nights at Richmond and do some local cycling on Monday but after coming across many cyclists on the narrow roads thought that was not such a good idea. So after a nice pub dinner in the Town Hall pub we booked ahead for another night to stay in Blackpool, one day earlier than ...

... 8211; very nice!Fountains Abbey and Sudley Royal Water Garden was absolutely lovely. When the socially ambitious John Aislabie inherited Studley Royal, he set about creating an elegant water garden of mirror-like ponds, statues and follies, incorporating the romantic ruins of the old Abbey into his design.
