Evidently this Chicory Coffee and Beginets at Cafe Du Monde is a thing to do - the joint is kinda lame, but the the C&B is friggin delicious, quoting Cajun chef Justin Wilson, I Garontee! Nothing can compare

Me and my family went to New Orleans for a vacation. I had made my reservation for a room with 2 double beds on the club level. When I arrived the incompitent person at the front desk said that there weren't any avaliable at the time. So I had to take a king. We went upstairs got into our room and it was time to go have dinner and we couldnt get out of our room. The door lock had problems you have to push door hard to get out it would take about 5 tries to get out. The room didnt have enough towels so i called the housekeeping for some towels and wash rags it took them forever to bring them, then when they got there they only brought the towels so they had to go back and bring the washrags. So the next day I went down and spoke with the manager and it is true at the ritz carlton's you are GREATLY compensated. They gave of our 1st night free and moved us to a huge room with 2 double beds. The club level food is the best. You have so much to choose from that you would never have to go out to eat. But when your in New Orleans you have to try seafood. The rest of my stay was so much better after being moved from that room. And the beds are like sleeping on a cloud. I would definitely reccomend this hotel.
Good location - Good hotel

We went to the Ritz for our anniversary and had a great visit. Enjoyed their always-impeccable service. While this hotel is not as swanky as some of the other Ritz properties, it has a certain New Orleans feel to it. Also, we found it to be a great location, just a few blocks from French Quarter, but far enough away that we could easily LEAVE the noise and the rowdiness when ready. Good choice.
Wonderful Hotel

Of all the hotels where I have stayed, this was one of the nicest. The room was large with a separate dressing area and a view of the courtyard. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was very polite, friendly, and helpful. Everything was clean and well kept. The fitness center was superb. They have a resistance pool! The only cons were the elevator system. Depending on where you enter the building, you will probably have to take two separate elevators to get to your room. None go all the way from the ground to the top floors. Weird design, but that did not detract much from the enjoyment of staying here.

Stayed at the Ritz-Carlton at the start of June for 3 nights. Almost everything about the hotel was excellent. Convenient for the French Quarter. I would stay here again and recommend to Family and Friends.
Good hotel for business and vacations. At $140 a night (American Express cardholder deal) This hotel proved good value. Room was very comfortable and decorated to a very high standard. I used the Broadband Internet access for the 3 days - a $10 a day - its a little on the expensive side - but the upside was that it worked first time without any glitches. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on quality of food. Only minor complaint was the drinks service in the Courtyard area - could have been a bit more attentive.

Has its good points, has its bad points

Most of the hotel is beautiful but the lobby is the best thing going for this hotel. The bellman we had was great as were most of the other staff but our room was a little shabby for a Ritz. There was a bright pink stain about 8 inches in diameter on one of the walls in the room and the carpets throughout the hotel were in great need of cleaning. For some reason our bathroom did not have washcloths when we arrived and we only received them on the last day although we requested some the first day. The continental breakfast (at $9 a person) was extremely disappointing with fruit that had no flavor and ALL the pastries were very stale- go to a local cafe instead - trust me. The location is convenient to almost everything, though. This Ritz is pretty to look at but I will probably stay somewhere else when I return to N.O.

The service at the Ritz is amazing. We were on the club floor great. The rooms need to be redone, not like some of their other places.
Worried Abt My Upcoming Visit

I'm planning a visit mid-March. We made the reservations via Expedia, but I called the Spa directly to make reservations for services. I was transferred a couple of times before actually getting someone in the spa. I asked for descriptions of a few of the treatments and this person obviously could not effectively describe these $100 + per hour services. I decided to go to their website and make the reservations instead. Two weeks ago I requested the particular services and have not heard from them yet! I called again today and made the reservations over the phone with someone who showed absolutely zero personality or enthusiasm. And of course I did not get an explanation or even inquiry about why my web request was ignored. I'm worried!

Just returned from a wonderful 5 night stay at this property. It is a small boutique hotel, very elegant and secluded even though it is part of the Ritz Carlton complex. We stayed in a king suite and the bathroom is spacious, romantic and elegant. The large soaking tub is big enough for two.
N.O.TV- An amentiy at the Ritz Carlton

Recently I stayed at the fabulous, relatively new Ritz-Carlton hotel in New Orleans on Canal St. The property was beautiful and the service was excellent.
A GREAT surprise was an amenity that I didn't expect: An informative, entertaining and well produced Visitor Information Station on the TV in my room.
N.O.TV is a TV station that offers visitors comprehensive information about what to do, where to go and what to see while in N.O..
I found it to be the BEST service of it's type I'd ever seen in all of my travels.
From dozens of the city's best restaurants to all of the major attractions and events going on around town, N.O.TV had information about everything. And, it wasn't one of those boring 'loop' systems repeated every hour or so. It had hundreds of different programs and historical tid-bits that made even the time in spent in my room enjoyable.
It was an in-room concierge service that made my visit to New Orleans a more enjoyable and educational experience.
Thanks Ritz-Carlton for carrying such a fine amenity in your guest-rooms!
