    I'm sitting in the Charlotte airport on my 8 hour layover, drinking a cold beer and reflecting on the last 10 years. This trip is far and beyond anything I've ever done before, and it is really exciting. Especially since I still don't have half of it planned yet!

    ... on how to operate the simulator. We were then given the green light to go and lay down some qualification laps. Cheryl sat down and we both got the briefing. Then I took a spot at another simulator and off we went. I crashed at least twice and didn’t get a qualifying lap done. Cheryl walked over and giggled a bit. I then got a successful lap in, but it was almost 10 seconds slower than Cheryl. I could hardly hold my head up from shame.

    ... Richmond's car, saw the engines I'd like to smuggle back to Australia and put in my car. Just an awesome Experience.
    From there we headed across to the Concord Airport business park to the Richard Petty shop. As a small team, there wasn't much to see here, but the ladies on the front desk went out of their way to help us find some Petty memorabilia to bring back home with us. Really friendly place.
