Historical Traveler Reviews Resort at Governor's Crossing Sevierville

Dont be decived by the web site

          from

Dont be decieved by the way the resort looks on their website. The Resort and The Crossing in Sevierville Tn is horrible!!! We requested a high floor and when we arrived we were on the first floor and the view was pretty much nothing because the only view we had was the pool. When we arrived at the room there was dust all over the tv stand in the bedroom. And our tv in the living room did not work. So we called the front desk and asked them to come and fix the room and after twenty minutes of sitting on the phone with the front desk and them making us un hook the tv and do all these things, then they said they would call us back. Twenty minutes later they called back saying they could not help us because maintence was gone for the day and said they would call and send someone up to fix it in the morning. And we never saw anyone or spoke to anyone the rest of the time we were there. Then we were pulling out the pull out couch and opened the closet to get the pillows and blankets out and there was mold all over one of the pillows. And the pool was only five feet deep and the hot tub was broken and then the lazy river was so small and over run with kids you couldnt get anywhere near it.

          Very Nice

          from

This is a very nice condo complex away from the noise and crowds. The pool area is large with a lazy river, children's pool and the swimming pool with lots of deck area. Our two bedroom condo was very large and well furnished. Our party of four adults and two teenagers never felt crowded. The balcony was spacious and it was near several restaurants.

WOW. New, close to everything, upscale, peaceful

          from

The Resort at Governor's Crossing is newer than most hotels in the area. Plus, it has a resort feel versus the typical motel in Pigeon Forge. It has the largest outdoor heated pool complex we saw in the area with lazy river, and great views of the Smoky Mountains. All rooms are owner condos. Our unit #1501, which the homeowner decorated and added items to made it feel like home. It has 2 DVD players and we rented movies for from WalMart and stocked up on food. For the best views, I recommend the top floor of the phase 1 building. The condo #1501 was a penthouse suite with fireplace. It had a separate bedroom with king size bed, living room with sleeper sofa and dining area, separate full kitchen with washer/dryer and bathroom with whirlpool tub. Very upscale feel to the room and resort. We were able to walk to a lot of great restaurants in the Governors Crossing area which was nice. Also close by is the NASCAR theme park, and Pigeon Forge area. It took under 10 minutes to get to Gatlinburgh. But, most of what we enjoyed to do was in Pigeon Forge and relaxing at the resort. You must see the Apple Barn, Old Mill, Boyd's Bear Country and Tanger Outlets which are all close by. Up in Gatlinburg, the Acquarium is great and the tram ride up to Ober Gatlinburgh. It's also nice to walk the shops. See pictures of the room/resort. Comfortable king suite sleeps 2 adults but kids can sleep on the sleeper sofa. This delivers a good value.

Very nice condo-type option in the Smokies!

          from

I believe this is as nice a place as there is right now in the Sevierville area. New condo development with an excellent location near many nice restaurants and attractions. Within walking distance of the NASCAR Speedtrack and Tanger Outlets. This is not a full-service hotel, but a condo that provide towel service daily. We just returned from a four night stay May 20-24. We had a two bedroom unit. Very clean unit with one King in one bedroom and two queens in the other. One bath had whirlpool jets. Full kitchen with utensils and dishes provided. Note there was no iron in our unit. Nice balcony. Many 5th floor rooms have fireplaces. 3 televisions with very good cable offerings including HBO. I will definitely stay here on my next trip to this area.

          Wonderful place to vacation...

We go to Gatlinburg and Sevierville at least twice a year,,,This was by far one of the nicest places we have stayed,,Great pool for the kids and very nice view from room!Even a washer and dryer!

          Best Deal in the Smokies

          from

This is definitely one of the best places I have ever stayed in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area (or actually anywhere else as far as that goes!) It's brand new, immaculate, very spacious and the price is unbelievable especially for a brand new resort and especially for a rather large condo. It's hard enough to find a small 1 room hotel for that price. That is definitely where I will be staying when I return to that area.

          Best condotel in the area

          from

This is the best place I have stayed at in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. It is a bit far from Gatlinburg, but it is new, very clean, the rooms are very spacious, the pool is great, and the best restaurants in the area are located right out the front door. This is a condo with a living room and seperate bedrooms, which makes it ideal for travel with children.

I will definitely stay here on future trips.

          Thanks TripAdvisor!

          from

We just came back from a 4 night stay at the Resort and enjoyed our stay immensely (well, except for the jackhammering at 7:20 a.m. on Friday morning). Once they get the new condos built next door, it will be great! If you can stand the hammering, etc. starting at 7:00 a.m., you'll be fine. We didn't complain because we rented a 2 bedroom/2bath condo for 3 of us for $67/night for 4 nights. We were thrilled with the accommodations, as was our 17 yo. He would retire to his room in the evening and watch all the sports he wanted while we could watch in the living room or retire to our bedroom to watch on the tv in there as well. I would definitely recommend it. Thanks also to tripadvisor. Without this website I wouldn't have found this rate on onlinehotels. We were close to outlets, restaurants, putt putt golf, etc. Loved it! (Can you tell?)

          Wonderful place for a getaway

          from

Just returned from a 2 night stay at this resort. It is brand spankin new and I believe we were the first to have ever stayed in our room. The parking is the only complaint as it is not quiet ample enough for the amount of guests, however, once the resort is finished I amsure that everything will be much better. I checked the various sites for a good price but got the best deal directly from the resorts site. This is conveniently located to all the newest attractions and eateries and shopping in the Pigeon Forge area. We will definitely be going back to stay there again.

          Great!!!

          from

This place is great! We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite 3 nights and only had to pay for 2. It seems that they have several specials like these several times during the year. The Resort is new. It seemed that my family of four had the place to ourselves as we only saw a handfull of other guests. This made it very quite and relaxing. Also the pool area was fantastic, the kids loved the lazy river and I hadn't gone swimming in years and I just couldn't resist the temptation. It was awesome. The suite was very large (over 1000 sq. feet) and clean. The furniture was nice and there were 3 TV's in our unit along with 2 full bathrooms, one of them had a jacuzzi. There were only 2 problems and they were very minor, one was our walk from the car to our room was far because our room was located at the far end of the building. The othe one was that the A/C is located in a locked closet in one of the bedrooms and it can be annoying because of the loud noise when running. I didn't mind it but I think most might. Other than that this place is the best in the area, I will definitely be back and I have stayed in many other hotels in the Pigeon Forge area.

... floods and devastation. A lot has happened while we've been away but we have been proud of the way our state has rebounded and are moving forward.

We're excited to be getting home tomorrow. We’ve been very fortunate through all our travels and have enjoyed sharing our adventures with our friends and family. We’re glad I wrote the blog because it’s already hard to remember some of the names of places we’ve been!

... Tuesday had turned into Wednesday. We were exhausted but you need to keep going the first day to get used to the time change. Germany is 6 hours ahead of US EST. Our hostess, Yvonne met us at the airport and took us to her home. It is a former villa and she lives on one floor of it. Very unique! We went to the city and Yvonne showed us the main square and historical area. The streets were being closed and set up for a major ...

Anyway, we had a meal with Heather and
her three kids. Kaitlin had sent a couple of letters back and forth
to one of the kids a few years back and so it was nice she could meet
