    ... boats, old cars or a steam bus. Too cold for the boat and the car was just driving off. The steam bus looked a bit like Bertie from Thomas and Friends so on Elizabeth the only operating steam bus in the world we climbed. Seated on old bench seats the bus built up steam and took us around unknown parts of Whitby which we still don't know as the 20 minutes involved the bus drivers wife explaining her husbands love of steam and trains and how the bus came to be on the roads. ...

    ... drop Michael in Pickering & this time I can't even be bothered to say goodbye so I don't. A quick coffee just outside of the town and then we're off back to Norwich. The rain has arrived and at times is quite heavy though it is still quite warm. Chris is driving today.
    Have let Ailsa know that the washing was done and on the line which by now will more than likely be soaking wet. Not the most sensible idea.

    ... 11 and decided to catch the steam train to Whitby for the day.No steam train after all. Michael! (What can I say) so we drove instead across the moors which are beautiful. Chris and I got out and said we'd meet others at 5pm in town as the car parks were packed and I was not prepared to spend a day touring car parks of Whitby.
    chris and I are about to climb 199 steps to Whitby abbey.

    After a yummy breaky again at Middlethorpe we checked out and headed off for Stockton on Tees which was about an hours drive from Robin Hoods Bay. The boys had a 45 over match against a Cleveland team who were 14-16 years old and very well trained. We bowled first, Jack kept for the first 25 overs and did ok, 3 weeks of cricket and being full on every day is taking it's toll and the boys are all exhausted and sore, some are injured, ...

    ... the kids with caps, a bag and even a medal so that was lovely. Jack made a good speech and presented their team with the kookaburra hats. It was a fun night, the adults had fun too but we won't go into that ;) Poor Johnno the bartender! Home to Robin Hoods Bay for us, big day 45 over match at Stockton tomorrow followed by a Aussie parents vs Crook parents game in the evening, lucky it doesn't get dark till after 10pm, we can squeeze a lot into a day ...
