... we can find inside our heads to remember, order, prioritise and be thankful. Immense satisfaction is achieved as every kilometre is counted down and personal achievement is sweet. So back to the 'rat race' and our speeding cars, but I pray I wont forget to walk so that I will be forever intimately connected to this beautiful planet, its grandeur and the intricacy of the creation and consequently experience the satisfaction of being apart of it. ...

And so to the last day. We had a wonderful stay at the Horseshoe Hotel. As we ate our breakfast and contemplated the days walk the rain fell outside. And it continued all morning. We got our waterproofs on, picked up our packed lunch from the bar and headed off onto Wainwrights route one last time. Off the path we stopped to look at ancient way markers, burial mounds, and grouse with ...

We had a leisurely 15 km walk today. Conditions were cloudy to begin with but brightened over the morning as the cloud broke up into beautiful balls of cotton. We started with a climb up Round Hill, the penultimate C2C climb. Once we reached the summit we again had beautiful views across to the east and back at yesterday's path over the 3 hills. The rest of the walk was along an easy plateau. Since entering the North Yorkshire Moors the the quality of the paths ...

... 2/3's along the stage we stopped at the busy Lord Stones Cafe and had cream teas. This place was a bit of a surprise in the middle of nowhere. It can be accessed from a narrow bitumen road so the tourist can get up there without burning a single kilojoule. Climbing up those hills afterwards with a belly full of scone and tea was hard work....it was!!!! The third and final climb took us through the Wain ...
