The North Iowa Band Festival Parade kicked off Saturday morning with a broad collection of high school and middle school bands from the North Iowa area. Mason City High School serves as the host and led off the parade with a rousing rendition of "76 Trombones" from the Music Man. Meredith Wilson, the writer of the Music Man, was born in Mason City. The festival features his musical legacy.
