The Canyon itself though was amazing. Just so big. Even though it was a bit foggy (because of the snow) at the start, it soon cleared up and we could see 1 mile down to the floor and 10 miles across to the other side. The colours of the rocks were beautiful and we spent most of our time just looking out over the ledges.

After a scorching morning walking the Strip in Las Vegas we called it a day and headed off towards Los Angeles.  An easy drive made by many on a Friday and Sunday evening, we eventually drove up Christian and Geni's drive.  The children did not know they were going to see their cousins and it did not dawn on them until we were near to the house.  They went mad and from there on until we left we hardly saw them.   

... plus drink and play for free, what more can you ask for. So much to do in Vegas...a few FREE must see's are..... 1) Treasure Islands' Pirate Ship Show
2) The Belagio Fountains
3) The Freemont Street Experience 4) The Eiffel Tower 5)The Pyramid ......just to name a few If you've never been to Vegas....YOU MUST GO, even if you don't like to gamble!!!

... and on to Vegas blvd, it is like nothing else you have seen. We were first hit with the famous MGM right in front of us that began the strip, followed by Ceasors Palace, Flamingo, The Venition and The Luxor. All these places that i had seen so many times in movies or knew as famous venues. The size of these casinos is mind blowing they just keep going on and taking up a whole blocks. Each one bringing something different than the last, with the skyline on New York, New York ...

I was happy because of the steady flow of bourbons arriving at seat 34B, and they kept bringing little white hot steamy towels which was cool. We went for dinner and a walk around the Hotel when we woke up at 6pm Mon Vegas time (9am Tues Melb. time). We had pizza and soda pops (soft drink ...

... at least three time as long to get your players club card than it is to check-in. But we got 'em and we had the lady link our accounts. That way we earn comps faster. We don't plan on gambling too much, so I don't know that we will really gain much 'free' stuff anyway. We really just play the slots a little while we wait for shows and such. More on that later. After checking in, we got changed and met up with Chris & Elizabeth and headed down to the Cathouse, a great restaurant in Luxor with cool furnishing and a delicious celebrity chef menu of contemporary dishes. I had a lamb curry, arranged beautifully on a long thin plate. The lamb was so tender, nothing like the chewy stuff you'd normally get in a curry. We had a selection of deserts (I had peanut butter mousse, delicious) and drinks then headed to the casino ...

... gingen we naar het cafe. We kregen de kaart voor het ontbijt. Oei, allemaal ERG lekker. Je kon zelfs biefstuk en DIKKE hamburgers krijgen voor ontbijt. Alfred ging voor de French Toast (wentelteefjes) en Susanne voor de 3 pannekoeken. Tja, wij zaten te denken aan wat we toen in de Flagstaff hadden gegeten, maar dit ging natuurlijk ook Bellagio-stijl. Prachtig opgemaakt en MEER dan voldoende. We checked out of the Venetian. We are on our way to Arizona. First, we stopped by the Adventuredome at Circus Circus where DS and DD1 enjoyed all the rides with DH. We had lunch at the Circus Buffet. After lunch we went see Hoover Dam, one of the major engineering achievements in America.

Then we drove all the way to Arizona. Grand Canyon, here we come.
