      ... path from the kitchen to the main house became known as the whistling walk.

      The Civil rights museum was distressing and moving and informative. We learned about the segretation that existed in Birmingham up until the mid seventies.

      We stopped into a roasted peanut factory that is still roasting in machines that are over a century old. We ate peanuts fresh out of the roasters. The smell was amazing.

      We have been preparing for our trip since we decided to go in March. This week we finalized all the accommodation reservations. I ordered a new purse: the thing came in yesterday and is astonishingly tiny! So cute! And it will leave my hands free to carry shopping bags.
