... for a special occasion - I guess we were it!

We sit up and chat late into the night about our travels and our rafting video.

I call my lovely Louise for a long awaited chat and send James a text from mum. All is well back home.

To our fan base - apologies for not getting the blog out sooner. A combination of too busy having fun, too tired, no reception, you get the picture. Remember no news is good news, so don't worry.

Today we ventured down to the Confederate campsite and then on to the SC monument. Trent had his pic taken there. As the first state to succeed the union, SC has a large granite monument paying tribute to her dead and states' rights.

We also learned that slaves were "leased" to the Confederate army for fighting.

At 3 p.m., Peg and Trent marched with "Armistead's Brigade" over a 3/4 mile in a re-enactment of ...

... or could use. This meant something like 19 bags of clothes and supplies to the Salvation Army. Joel even went through all his tools. It was nice to focus and realize that our happiness did not lie in our possessions rather those few possessions we kept reminded us of a loved one or a time and place where we had been.
