    ICE is nice!

    The German train system is on strike until Monday. That is all BUT the ICE (intercity express) trains. So we did catch our 6:45 AM train from Brussels to Frankfurt. It was a little eerie to see all the trains parked. There were a few running but in most of the stations, like Koln and Bonn, we were the only train.

    ... all around the area. David and I took many pictures. In some areas they had photographs of the destruction that took place in WWII. The photos showed the before and after reconstruction. Visited two Catholic churches that had been reconstructed as they once were. The architecture shows the influence of Dutch.
    Our time is up and we must return to the airport.

    ... kind've appreciate the bad pun that has made its name. As there was still plenty of daylight left in the day, we decided to head into the centre of town and go up the Main Tower, a 200 metre skyscraper offering views of the city up on its rooftop.     ... with Dalmatians apparently. But he does understand sign language. I finished up the night at a pub watching Australia play soccer. It was the last game which always turns out to be a midnight kick-off over here. But some drunk did come up to me and tell me he was from Syria and speaks Arabic and Aramaic. I could say only in Berlin... but that's obviously not true. Still cool ...

    ... a busy, fun filled few days if arrival was anything to go by. For the festival we had decided to stay with TopDeck tours on a camping site about 30 minutes from the centre of town. Using the directions given to us we trudged off to the Metro, boarded the train and about 15 minutes later exited the station.
