... a couple of houses, and a large tourist centre. We had lunch at the nice little cafe there. We explored the visitor centre to see what walks we could do. We didn't have a lot of time left in the day so we drove up the road a bit to Dovedale. Here we walked along a track to the stepping stones which are limestone rocks laid out over the Dove river. Wednesday 14th: Weston to Trent Junction
Trent Junction is a large expanse of water that we've crossed several times, coming out of the River Soar to the Trent & Mersey Canal but it was the first time we stopped for the night. What a lovely setting!
It was exciting to finally arrive at the entrance to the River Trent, ready to venture into new territory in the morning.
