... I had stupidly packed the little limoncello bottles I'd bought as gifts in my cabin baggage, thinking that since I'd have to declare them as alcohol in Sydney it would be easier. Of course Rome security had other ideas and confiscated them. Beyond security we then got to queue again for a bus to take us to our gate in Terminal G. ... the Arab states and our flight was full of people returning home for Easter. Reassuringly right in front of us as we exited was a man holding a placard with our names on it and we were guided to our waiting vehicle and driver before being whisked through the 5am (yes 5am) rush hour traffic to our hotel, where we were expected.
