Kelowna Airport is a one hour flight from Calgary and the city lies on the banks of the Okanagan River. It is an idyllic holiday town with lakes, vineyards and small beaches. Many people have holiday homes here and it is an affluent city.
During our visit we stayed downtown and visited many wineries on both banks of the valley:

More excitingly and a major surprise is the area is jam packed with wineries. Dorothy as a welcome present gave us 2 bottles on our arrival. It was so nice sitting in the nice warm spa, just looking at the lovely white snow until I went to get out and slipped on the icy steps and fell, just a few sore points. That was enough excitement for one day.
