    ... mark the 900th birthday of the Cathedral.
    The choir stalls, which were built in 1380, are both beautiful and grotesque. Part of their beauty lies in the delicate high spiky intricate canopy which is perched above the stalls, and part of their grotesqueness lies in the wonderful carvings at the end of each stall, and on the misericords.

    Day 8. After a morning spent fitting a cupboard door, with some difficulty, we drove back the lovely Spa town,Buxton.
