... on the ground. I will let the photos speak for themselves but we had a lot of fun!
We then shopped for a few hours in the old city of Lucerne and most of our tour group went to a traditional Swiss restaurant where we had cheese fondue etc! Oh!....and Mitch performed on stage with a traditional trumpet and then Tim tried to yodel. Funny, yes. At least he got a free beer which is pretty awesome considering the hideous cost of everything here!! Off to Italy ...

Got up today to go on a gondola ride up the mountain. I'd been looking forward to this since I booked it. We got on small 4 person gondolas and headed halfway up the mountain, then got on a big standing gondola that we all got squished into. I was standing in the middle area of this gondola and sadly didn't get to see much going up. The second gondola took us steeply up to the top of Mt Pilatus. That's all for now ...

... Lake Luzern, back to the town and another large lake nearby. We walked back to the station and took a joy ride on another cog railway to the town of Goldau. It did not look pedestrian friendly by the station so we stayed on the railway back to the top where we changed trains for our final descent to Vitznau, home for the night. We did eat a lunch of bread and cheese on the way back up to Rigi. The railway to Vitznau was pretty full so we went to the front ca r ...

... will be waiting for me when I get home?

Now that Europe has switched over to standard time, the sun is out til 8pm - a bit strange but nice as it pretty much feels like early summer with the T-shirt weather. So that's Lucerne in an afternoon. Unless you're thinking of doing daytrips to nearby Pilatus or Titlus, one day is probably good, and you'll also have time for a boat ride (free I'm told if you have a Swiss pass).
