So instead, we decided to take a short gondola ride up to the tiny (inaccessible by car) village of Gimmewald. Cutest mountain town ever, with just a few restaurants and little hotels (yup you can stay up there, a must do if we ever come back) and little adorable wooden houses. We then ...

... walking in the rain. The Lake was still very lovely despite the rain, the clear green water covered with white swans and ducks of all shapes and sizes. There were hundreds of boats moored all round the shore, both private and also large tour vessels. Lucerne is a major tourist centre and the CBD was full of shops of all types - Victor warning us that prices for most items were very steep - something we found out for ourselves later! Our hotel was very ...

I never knew how much French I knew...

A travel blog entry by atomastik on Jan 27, 2011

... You two should talk to each other in French!" every time this happened I would roll my eyes clam up and never be able to think of a single thing to say, always feeling a combination of that feeling that when someone ask you to say something (or think of a song on the spot) you always seem to blank out, but mostly I always felt like I didn't really know French and that if I tried to talk to someone that actually knew it I would look stupid. This stems partly from ...
