Looking around it seems that we are yet again going to navigate our way through a gift shop. The kitschy key chains with blinking names (but never my name?) are on display, right next to palm tree mugs and picture frames shaped like sunglasses. T-shirts line the walls and sweatshirts are folded in two foot tall stacks just waiting to be dug through to find the right size and color to scream that you were “here!”

Wow, I'm truly flattered by Maggie's post.

We had a short day with no rush to make mileage so we idled along at 5.5 its and enjoyed the uniqueness behind Myrtle Beach. Some of this is interesting but is generally pretty boring. This provided some good teaching moments for Maggie, who is a quick study. She spent a lot of time at the helm and is getting the hang ...

We are well, boat is doing fine, wx is comfortable, food is good, and sleeping (with the boat's mesmerizing motion) will top off an excellent day's run. A

... it is pretty much a ghost town. Everything is empty. The mini putt, water slides, amusement parks, and boardwalks are all silent and shut down. Even half the hotels are closed. We decided to take advantage of the off season and do what we haven’t done on this entire trip. We got a hotel room for the night. We went to one of the hotels and told them we were on our honeymoon (technically true). They gave us the discount room price and upgraded us to the honeymoon suite along with ...

We enjoyed electric heat last night at Myrtle Beach Yacht Club but the morning was cold and we slept in, leaving just in time to catch the 1000 opening of the Little River swing bridge, passing through with four other boats. To the Captain's thinking, the next 27 miles of Myrtle Beach overdevelopment is the least attractive stretch of the entire east coast ICW. The next few hours was spent moving along this segment at approximately 6 knots until we hit ...
