... driving on the wrong side of the road! We eventually found our accomodation- harrahs right next to the venetian. We spent the day walking around just getting our bearings then we had to go drop the car off. We stopped to get petrol and then the car wouldn't start! About 15 minutes if panic and we eventually sorted it but we were nervous when we returned it. Luckily it started! We caught a cab to hooters which was ****! Makes burswood look like a good casino so we swiftly exited ...
... were lifted from my shoulders. I spent the day in la shopping and keeping busy and I strutted in the hostel and nearly choked. He was STILL THERE! he sat at the back reading a huge magazine and started peering through it. I went and sat down and told Jordan and he peaked over and said ok Scarlett I believe you now he's watching you!! Was the creepiest thing he sat there for hours looking at me over a magazine. I just wanted this guy to leave so I could relax. He looked ...
... you are kidding me!! We shovelled it down then head to the next ride. A three hour wait for some rides this is ridiculous!! We go to the quickest, a special effects show, boring. Back to drawing board, ooooo haunted house the girls take a pass but we go through, it is hilarious and scary at the same time, definitely a mood uplifter. I get scared shitless by this random masked character, and then stu makes a gargle noise as a horror bride chases him through a room. ...
Today we ventured out nice and early to fit all the sights in - via an open top sightseeing bus! This started in downtown LA and then ventured to Hollywood! We came across a market on the way to the bus stop so has a yummy chocolate croissant for breakfast. We saw things such as the Walt Disney content hall, Hollywood sign, many film sets and Johnny Depp's mansion (naturally surrounded by trees) - Decided not to attempt scaling the ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Orlando Hotel Los Angeles
I was pleased with this hotel. I found that it was great value for money and the location was perfect!! The staff were helpful, and the rooms were as expected. My husband and I will definately stay there again when we return to LA!
We were very excited when we got a great deal on the internet at the Beverly Plaza Hotel. It looked great and sounded even better. Looks can certainly be deceiving! Two positives about the hotel: It was centrally located and the valets were very helpful. The negatives: The front desk workers were not overly polite, in fact, when we first arrived no one even greeted us! When we checked in we reminded them that we had reserved a non-smoking room. We were told we defintely had one! Needless to say, we wound up in a smoking room. We thought it smelled strange and kept wondering why there were ash trays and smoke pouring in thru the vents. When we finally asked about it, we were told, yes, we were in a smoking room. No apologies were ever heard! After some time they agreed to move our room, however, they stuck us in a tiny room in the way back of the hotel. It was not the type of room we had paid for. After a bit of arguing, and still no apologies, they mysteriously had a like room, non smoking, become available! The room was decent and definitely large, however, everything looked like it needed to be upgraded. None of the hardwear matched (one side of a door would have a gold knob, the other silver), the bath tub spigot swung around due to rotten caulk. There were water marks on the ceiling of our bathroom. Our favorite part was that the restaurant was under renovation. We were assured we could get room service from a near by restaurant, but were then charged a delivery fee! We also thought the pool was humorous. It is about the size of two hot tubs!!! Needless to say, this is DEFINITELY not a FOUR star hotel. And, if you stay there, we suggest you use the elevator on the right rather than the one on the left -- that one hasn't been inspected since 2001!!!
The only "Guarantee?" A big hassle.
In the middle of winter it was hardly surprising to find our flight from Philadelphia to LA delayed. The big surprise was arriving at the hotel to find out that they had sold our room to someone else while we were still in the air, despite our "guaranteed" reservation. To add insult to injury they charged our "guarantee" credit card for the room to boot and told us to "take it up with their accountant" if we didn't like it. The rude manager didn't even offer to help us find a room elsewhere - maybe we didn't look rich enough to merit her help. The only "guarantee" we got was big headache.
We just got back from LA. We were disapointed with this hotel! The room was smaller than expected, the pool and the pool area were tiny. The front desk people were okay...not terribly helpful or knowledgable.
There are much better hotels for the money that we paid. To top it all off I got home and found that they charged my credit card more for items from the mini bar which were never used!!! They told me they would remove it after telling me that this happens all the time. Buyer Beware!
Since my daughter has been a Cedars-Sinai patient, beginning in Nov. 2003, we've stayed there three times. After her surgery, I phoned home to inform my familly of the results. Collect. When I received my ATT Master Card bill, the COLLECT call I'd made - not using the credit card numbers at all for said call- just following the directions in the hotel guide, the call cost ME $88.16!!! I asked the hotel about this, and they said it was my problem. After an extensive net search, I found that the hotel uses a company called "Opticom", which is listed often in the Rip-Off Report / Badbusinesbureau and several other consumer alert sites. Now I have to contact the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General as Opticom puts you on hold for up to 15 minutes, then hangs up on you. Also, we almost missed one of her post-op appointments when the front desk "forgot" to give us a wake up call. Since there is no food on the premises, one must call "Berry's Cafe" which I found to be over-priced and over-rated as they're the only business the hotel will help you with. When a mother and nine year old girl are alone in L.A., and going through the trauma of treating her medical condition, I did not feel comfortable wandering the streets at night by ourselves, plus we were usually quite tired from the traveling and multiple doctor appointments. This hotel is under-whelming. I feel the only reason it has ANY clients is from the location. The rooms and service are average by any large city's standards, much less in Beverly Hills. The front desk and maid service were awful. The only helpful people we found are the men working outside. The valets and other attendents are professional, but don't believe anyone when they say they'll have a cab waiting for you or have called one. We almost missed our flight home last time from this problem - and the front desk had all sorts of bogus charges from the "honor bar" in which case you are guilty until proven innocent and I felt they preyed on a stressful situation and lack of time to argue the mysterious charges while anxious to beat traffic and get to LAX on time. This would be a two star hotel in any other location. Obviously, we will not be staying there ever again and I would not suggest it to anyone. As a last point of information, we paid about $2,500.00 for these three stays. One was about a week, the other were just a few days. Still, we were treated poorly.... Between airtravel and medical costs, this was a financial hardship and added stress we did not need. The front desk assured us we were getting the discount price for Cedars-Sinai patients at $135.00 per night. They have not heard the last from me re: the Opticom scam though. Thanks for letting me purge my feelings and tell my tale of his establishment.
Expedia says it all
I got the room from priceline for $100. It's right across from Beverly Center very convenient. It's old styled and lots of matured and rich guests seen in this hotel.
Stayed at the Beverly Plaza for 2 nights (7/8 October). Great hotel - lovely rooms - well appointed and decorated. Pool and fitness room small but adequate for a city centre hotel.
Lack of restaurant due to renovation only downside, however plenty of choice nearby. Taxi vouchers good idea, however only seemed to be applicable to journey's from the hotel.
Would definitely stay here again.
Stayed at the Beverly Plaza Oct 6-9 - what a nice surprise!!! Centrally located to EVERYTHING! Hotel staff very pleasant and rooms were nice - free taxi vouchers for everyday of your stay! I am very picky but would stay here again!!
Nice little place
After much internet research I reserved the Bev Plaza Hotel. I got a govt rate of $99 which is quite low for this hotel. The rooms are very clean and it has a nice sitting area with sofa and easy chair plus a table. The pool area is small but clean. There is a nice looking workout room too. It takes 5mins to walk to the Beverly Center which is a huge mall area. Plus the Farmers Market is about a mile away and it is totally cool. I would stay here again IF I could get the same rate.
Additional note: The Radisson Bev Pavillion was in a great location and looked nice and clean from the outside. Check their rates. Be advised though that these hotels are about a 25min drive to Universal Studios, Burbank, Etc..
I had found and reserved online. When I reached hotel they were waiting me and room was ready. The room is very well furnished and the King bed is real king.I feel like I am home.It was clean, comfortable and prices are very good for this service. Most I like is its a small boutique hotel in the middle of Beverly Hills and Hollywood.Even they are renewing restaurant, visitors can have room service from near restaurants.
I will definately stay at this hotel again when I come to LA.
