      ... walked over to Harrods which is a giant department store with a chocolate, tea and toy store in it. Apparently it gets super dressed up at Christmas. There were a looooot of high end stores here that you have to walk through to get into the building though. After that I went home and met up with Mark and we spent the rest of the night relaxing.       ... the monarchy - the Tower of London (the Yeoman Warder tour is great fun); Buckingham Palace (we did not see the changing of the guards; we only saw people's backs three rows deep); and Kew Gardens where King George III (the mad man in power during the American Revolution) lived.       ... come, we got a taxi to drive us all the way to The Tower of London to just decide that we should wait until the next day! Instead, we took a taxi-boat right next to The London Eye. Next to the gigantic Ferris wheel, we had dinner at Sherlock Holmes pub. It was delicious! After we came back, my family and I stayed up WAY to late, so we went to sleep.

      ... all the English reading this it is not want it used to be , it all changed for the Olympics, Huge new transport centre, the stadium of course, and the housing for the athletes. Today we went to the Westfield there, it is huge. John Lewis, Marks and Spencer - the lot. It was crowded after living in Auckland. We are getting used to using the buses again and marvelling at how many and how frequent.

      As you saw from the pictures the day before this that is how we started our morning.
      We didn't leave Hertsfordshire until 1pm which was touch and go as we had to get the car back for 2pm. We arrived at the rental car place at 2:30 after making a couple of wrong turns (I wouldn't want to drive in London without GPS - what did people do before that clever person (whoever he was) discovered that)
