Hiking – You really should get to know Vietnam inside out and what better way than to explore the scenic and serene mountains in the north of Vietnam by hiking. Halloween!

... it was designed in the 70s but it looks like it could be brand new. They had a beautiful exhibition in there of photographs of farming and farmers in East Anglia. It sounds daggy, but the photos were just stunning. They also had one on surrealism, but I wasn't so keen on that. Far too many pairs of underwear stretched across chairs and disturbing video installations.

Anyway, that is all from me really. Hope you're all well. Not long now til I'm home really!

My honeymoon in Africa

Packages are available which include flights, accommodations, and safari adventure. Basically you are only responsible for drinks, meal, and any other things you might be interested in.

This is a great idea for those who ...

Norwich news

... workshopped that poem on Wednesday when I went to my creative writing group meeting as Wednesday was a dedicated workshopping session. The group has another session this afternoon on dialouge, followed by a few drinks in the campus bar, so that should be fun!

That's it from me really. Hope you are all well and that the weather is starting to get better in Australia. Can't wait to see you all in only two months' time!

No more sleeps until the big trip

... my first night in Peru, I will be doing a quick stop on the way at Houston and will try to update the blog then.

At 6 am tomorrow morning I will be meeting with 24 trekkers that will be taking part in this trip, each and everyone of us for our own charity and some for very personal reasons.

This will for me be an amazing adventure and I hope you enjoy reading about the journey.

The rain has started...

... A couple of people in my flat have been intrigued by my vegetarian cooking, but also seem to be impressed by how colourful and nice the meals I cook look. So next week I am teaching Sam and maybe Bish (both live in my flat) to cook some veggie meals. Should be fun! Am going to convince them to come to the markets with me to buy the veggies so that they get a feel for the whole process.

I'm also making morning tea tomorrow (scones) for Jenny, who is moving out of our flat ...

Taking on the Lowestoft scores

... back a hundred years or so.

The final part of the scores took us to the sparrows nest gardens... Probably the most attractive part of the scores walk, by this time our legs were aching from ascending and descending but we were greeted by a lovely little cafe, where I couldn't resist a latte. The scores here turn in cliff paths, taking us through woodland and landscaped gardens. The view was fantastic across the north sea and the industrial area at the start ...

Lowestoft to Southwold Beach Walk

... the still water and of course the crashing waves of the sea. It was here we came across the most bizzare tree I have ever seen, it appeared to be growing out of the sea, although it was dead and bleached, it looked so magical and some what spiritual, in fact this whole area was spiritual, we were the only 2 people there and to be honest I think that this added to the moment, we could have spent hours just taking in the energy from this place, but as I said ...

... and 2 cathedrales! Seriously, there is a medieval church on every corner. Norwich was once England's second largest city, after London. But with the industrial revolution Norwich fell behind and is quite a small city now. I think by Australian standards it would not even be classed as a city as its population is well below one million. However, here in England, any town that has a cathedrale is classed as a 'city'.

There is just too much to tell really, I feel like I ...

Get me to the pier on time!

... br>The rest of the day has been fairly easy, considering how the day started. We are getting ourselves ready for a day at sea tomorrow (and for readjusting our internal clocks). We already have our first time change of a “freakin’ hour” (to quote Bernie). We will be 7 hours ahead of the Orlando time zone.

So with that, it is now 10pm and we are going to bed, but the sun is still not set… and it’s only going to be getting worse!
