      Here we are in Malmesbury, the "Queen of the hilltop towns" and reportedly the place of the oldest continuous settlement in England. King Athelstan died here in 709 and was buried in the Abbey, which is virtually next door to where we are staying in a home exchange organised by Trish and Ray.
      It's an old house, over three levels and quite comfortable despite its plumbing issues.

      Sorry for the chee-z title.. Struggling with being clever this weekend. For Easter weekend, we were lucky enough to have a 4 day weekend instead of the normal 3. I waited a little too late to buy plane tickets (they were insanely expensive) so I ended up staying in Oxford and doing day trips around England with some friends which ended up being really relaxing and fun.       ... I'm looking forward to it. I had a moment of homesickness while watching the Prime news story video on the return of the Kokoda Trekkers but was very proud at the same time. Everyone spoke really well. Also knowing that Grant & Hannes were staying with Sarah & Ben in Canberra & that Carol was there as well made me wish I could be in two places at once.       off to Deddington tomo to see Toffo (aka my mate Sheila), who is probabaly responsible for setting me on a culinary, not to mention cholesterol laden and alcohol fuelled, path some 32 years ago, so all very fitting for a weekend break from this place
