    ... night and I was asleep but 8.30! Today was a shorter walk with several medium climbs across moors of Heather which is now flowering and really beginning to stand out against the ground. Once again it was dry underfoot, though paving stones much of the way were ******* the feet, particularly after yesterday and unfortunately I have a couple of blisters returning.     ... a little sloppy in comparison to the sponge and did not seem to go with the plating of all the prior dishes that evening.

    My conclusion after this experience is that I need to try another Michelin star venue. My review of this one is that it is not worth the money despite the luxurious setting and beautiful views of the hills and the lake beyond them. I hope to eat at the Gilpin Hotel before I depart the Lake ...

    Well today is our last day in the Lakes. Said a fond farewell to Debs, Howard and Meg dog. Had a delicious brekky of eggy bread and several cups of tea. When we last came 9 years ago we stayed in a little cottage in a village called Portinscale the otherside of Derwentwater and on one of the walks from there we came across a wooden carving of hands cupped, well I wanted to go back the only problem was it was about a 6 ...

We wandered up to a little church up the road, stopping briefly to have a chat with the very friendly piggies, Andy made a new best friend!, see photo!, in this church was a memorial plaque for Alfred Wainwright, who was a very famous author and illustrator of all the Lakeland fell guide books.     ... sweet shop not the dog shop!) Then it was back to the site up the bloody great hill for a well earn't beer and shower. Tea of French pizza and fried French potato cubes ( blooming delicious). Spent the rest of the evening sat outside the van chatting with Deb n Howard, using Miss Meg as a hot water bottle, no clouds tonight so had got a tad chilly. Lots of Ooooo do you remember this place in Wigan tonight, but all in all a lovely evening. Off on another walk tomorrow. ...
