On the way back we stopped in the Trivandrum harbor for some pictures. Many motor boats were doing a tour with Kovalam beach tourists. With only limited traffic on Christmas day, I reached the resort at 13:30. It gave me the opportunity to publish my last three blog posts from there.
... for a nice cafe which didn't have beer but had footy on the telly (Man U v Everton) and was air conditioned and mozzy free...a relief to Annie at the end of a bitey bus ride and a sweaty walk! The food was a bit poor but United won and we met a couple of nice Aussies, one of whom supported West Ham. A good night.

... driver! ~Our route takes us through Eratupetta, Pala, Kuralivangad, Kottayam and on to Fort Cochi. We pass our elephant on his way to a day out at a temple. We had been told when he we saw him working in the forest that he was due to appear at a temple festival in the neighbourhood. We catch the 7.25am train to Kochi, thinking it would be a 2 hour train..but turned out to be 6! We had to be a 50rps upgrade to 1st class as there were no seats left...but I did not bargain on this meaning we would be surrounded by cockroaches. Once we get there we catch a ferry across to Fort Cochi. We stay in a fantastic hotel, with Christopher at the helm giving us all the advice we need and providing us with inaccurate but gratefully received maps of the area. We go to explore ...
