... using a steam locomotive. It goes incredibly slowly taking about 5 hours to travel 45km. It stopped about 4 times on the way to refill the locomotive boiler with water which I wasn't expecting, but of course I know absolutely nothing about steam trains. The hill climb is pretty steep as far as trains are concerned - the track has an extra rack in the middle and the train uses a rack and pinion system to ease its way up the hill. One experience we keep having when we go to sightseeing spots where there are also Indian tourists is that lots of people want to take our photos!! It is quite a strange feeling, although we are getting used to it now. I suppose many Indians live in places where they rarely see foreigners, so we must be such a source of some curiosity and amusement!
