Needless to say, the wedding, reception, food, drinks, and entertainment were all good and we had a great time! The plus was Brian and Julie got everyone who stayed at the local hotel a shuttle to and from the winery - what an excellent idea for you future newlyweds. ;)

Neversink Reservoir after the Deluge
... didn't realize it, but poor Otto went out of his way to meet me in Kingston this morning. For my part, I did make a huge sacrifice of sleep time to get there by 8 am - actually I made it there by 7:47 am. It was foggy for most of my drive down - only clearing about a mile before the Kingston exit. It was a lovely, if curvy, drive to the Neversink Reservoir. FDR and the Vanderbilts.
... the Roosevelt property is the Vanderbilt Mansion. The home, used only for a few weeks in the Spring & Fall, belonged to Frederick William Vanderbilt; grandson of the Commodore. Built in a grand scale with classical ornamentation, it is completely different from the home of the Roosevelt's. It too, is owned by the National Park service and tours are given several times a day.

On the road again September 2012
... school children got off the bus and were met by their parents, all waiting at the ends of the road. Some met by their mom, younger siblings and the new puppy - so cute. One brick building along the main street had arched windows painted on the side, with a different scenic view 'out' each window.
Continued on to River Beach campground in Milford, arrived about 5 minutes ahead of Rod and Margaret. ...
