... then it has gotten progressively better as we traveled south. I can't explain this but the trees were not changing in Canada except near the border. As we get further into Maine it has been more colorful. I didn't download the pictures from the camera before it went back with CW. So I missed the pictures of Kip and the few I took of Acadia. Anyone who says that art isn’t alive and thriving these days clearly has never been to Portland, Maine on the first Friday of any given month. Throughout the entire year on these select days, an event called the First Friday Art Walk takes place in the heart of Portland. Another thing Maine is known for is its lighthouses. There are 57 active lighthouses running along the State's coastline as well as some decorative ones dotted here and there.
Without knowing it, Lobster and Lighthouses would become a very common theme as we road tripped through Maine.

... There were cute little houses everywhere too. We saw a very cool abandoned railway that we had fun taking photos of.... it was very cold so we were basically jumping out of the car, taking photos and then jumping back in the car! After finding Fryeburg we drove on to Conway, just to see more snowy areas. It was just this lovely day driving around the gorgeous countryside and then returning to Portland..... where we had tea on a restaurant inside ...
