... before we headed to a hotel for the most amazing all-you-can-eat Banana Leaf Thali... The flavours were delicious if unrecognisable and we are really getting to grips with eating with our fingers. Our host Adrian tells us that the custom of eating with fingers comes from a need to feel your food. They think, in Kerala, that using cutlery creates a disjoin between the food and the consumer. Anyway, we are really starting to enjoy it.

... on to get a better look. He let me have a go at lowering the net and pulling ******* the rope which lowered the rocks holding the net under and lifted the net out of the sea, into the air. ... buy these fresh fish for the curry for lunch. We have been eating a lot of fish, most small ones either in a curry or deep fried. One day we had marlin steaks cooked in garlic sauce, it was delicious. Getting good at catching local buses. Rarely use the Tuk tuks,and taxis only to get to and from the hotel with our luggage. ... 1 we were able to take some fresh king prawns which we had bought at the Chinese Fishing nets! and some bhindi! and the chef cooked us a delicious dinner. We had to have it by candlelight , although we would really have loved to have the fan on, as it was hot and we were outside, so no a/c.
