And so after a long flight - 12+ hours - we arrived in Paris, grabbed a quick drink and then on to Birmingham. Unfortunately, Pat's suitcase decided to stop off in Paris but will hopefully be delivered tomorrow! Back to a sunny UK, with a temperature not much cooler than Hanoi yesterday, where the blossom is in full swing. Lots of memories of a lovely holiday. ...

... our way and arrived without too much delay to check in. Luggage was booked straight through - hopefully we would see it again in HCMC.
A short flight to Paris before we boarded Air France plane for the long flight to Vietnam. We dozed a bit, read a bit and watched films a bit to while away the time. Somewhere along the way we lost 7hrs in time difference and most of Thursday. And so we arrived - not sure if it was Thursday or Friday - ready to start our adventures. ...

And so we set off in our next great adventure, five days after arriving home from the last one. All the washing done, bug done :( ready to go. Set off about half 11 in the end, and stopped just south of avonmouth for a ham roll and a packet of crisps. Lovely spot with picnics tables by the trailer bit. ... and returned the way we had come.

We found our way into Habberley Valley and followed the road to Catchem's End Chip Shop, where the kids persuaded me to buy them a cone of chips. The final lap was through Major Webbs down to the leisure centre. As we passed the 15 miles mark, we all did a happy dance. The kids' legs were aching a bit by this point.

Down through York Street Lock. No time to empty the two full cassettes we had or to fill up with water. At the staircase pair there was one boat going down and another waiting. The second boat allowed us to go in front of him, which was kind.

Another boat was already in the drydock, so Hazel took Gabriel in alongside. Strangely, it was Rasa Sayang, who used to moor on the Wey Navigation at Pelican ...
