This morning we were supposed to join the group for an Indonesian language class but Maria and I opted for a day to pamper ourselves. We walked 15 minutes down the road from our house to the Mansion Resort and Spa and paid the 30,000 ($3) for a day pass to the pool. ... place, way better than expected. The monkeys were everywhere and several people were letting them jump all over them. I kept well clear as I'd heard stories about people being bitten and even witnessed it a few times whilst there. Next I checked out Ubud palace and the little market both of which weren't all that exciting. Finally I opted to do a walk around the rice paddies, it took several hours but the views were amazing. ... thanks Andrew for the tip). One of the owners is Australian and it is a lovely simple but interesting menu. The breakfast is wonderful too. Off to "Sardine" tonight which I must say I am enjoying the no cooking aspect of the trip.
Mandy is working on her tan as we speak and will arrive in the UK looking fabulous. She is not sure what to wear.................mmmm, maybe white shorts to accentuate her tan!!!
