      ... and turning on the Christmas village lights tonight. I visit the different Christmas markets. Stop in at some local shops and indulge in a bit of roadside roast spit burger. There were pigs roasting on spits outside most of the pubs, all in anticipation of a big night ahead I suspected.

      Waterhead is much smaller then Ambelside. It has a few restaurants lake side and a few pubs & shops scattered around the parks and so on. ...

      ... Day 3
      With the weather forecast just as bad as the last couple of days, we decided there was little point in trying to tackle the big peaks. So instead we took a walk from Ambleside which took us out of the town and steadily up a valley. At least this time we got some views! It was beautiful in Autumn and we reached a lovely river which we crossed to then eventually circle back to town.

      ... planning for lunch. All the places in town were cafe's or bistro's, mostly serving finger food and pastries. Walking the entire town took less than 20 minutes, but amazed me with every corner. Shops selling home-made goods were in-between the cafe's, gardens were in-between them, and cobblestone pathways along the way led to nature trails.
