4am~ With a torchlight, we walk into the dark.. walk and walk for an hour. Stop for awhile to rest... and continue again. We could barely see anything around us. The guide holded my hand through rough spots. Finally we reach the peak, waiting for the sun to rise. This is the first time we will be looking at the sunrise together. :) http://isis-journey.blogspot.com/2009/0 4/bali-29th-april-5th-may-09.html

... cancellation fee, which we were more than happy to pay, and checked into the New Arena Hotel. This was one the nicest hotels we'd ever stayed in and was incredibly cheap. Plus it had a brilliant pool, which we spent nearly the next week in!

We spent the next few days exploring Kuta, including the gorgeous beach, where lots of surfers practice there skills on the huge waves. The general area of Kuta is much like South East Asia, in that there is a relentless ...
Kuta, Bali, Indonesia nefi... for a few araks. An interesting local drink. Not recommended.
One effective way to freshen your self up in the morning I have discovered is to throw yourself into the biggest swell you’ve ever seen and attempt to surf it. I say attempt as a more accurate description might be to say the waves surfed me rather than I surfed them. Always room for improvement I like to think! After slight success with the waves in Peru I was looking forward to a little bit of a challenge ...
Kuta, Bali, Indonesia ciaradoonerush... i don't want to arrive at the airport to a crowd of you waving banners. It would be weird.

What have we done? To be brutally honest, we have done next to nothing. Spent most of the days down at the beach tanning and jumping around in the sea. Of and evening we have tended to get some food then go back down the beach with an ice cream. Its a tough life! One of the ...
Kuta, Bali, Indonesia sitwed... and talk to me as part of their English assignment. They had a set of questions to ask me and sometimes the conversation developed further; like when they asked me to tell them what happened to Kurt Cobain after I pointed out his Nirvana T-shirt. After 10 or 15minutes they each had their photo taken with me and then got me to sign their english assignment sheet for them.

Just before we were about to leave a group of girls approached Andy and asked to have their photo taken ...
Kuta, Bali, Indonesia cereal42... a proper honeymoon. Only to be used when fed up of skanky beds, disgusting bathrooms and feeling in need of some TLC. The time was now ha ha. Off we went to the smallest island of Gilli Air. Oooh so beautiful. Beautiful clear waters in which you could see the fish, no vehicles allowed only horse and cart with jingle bells that sound like Santa is coming and the honeymoon suite of our dreams!!!! Thank you thank you thank you Mum and John!! We had the deluxe room with the back ...
Kuta, Bali, Indonesia philandkatrina... cafe.Hummm.
Ubud, Bali, Indonesia france_rejean... our Jetstar flight to Denpasar, Bali. I swear there had to be about 40 staff travelling on this flight but luckily we managed to get a place on the plane. Once we went through the customs we noticed there were a lot of renovations happening on the airport and there was only 1 real place where you could buy food. I hope it will be better when the renovations are complete. Anyway, while waiting to ...
Bali, Indonesia rvs... Monket Forest Sanctuary, and evidently the monkeys considered their territory a little larger than the people did. While leaping across the rooves above us, they sent very large tiles hurtling off the roof. Our hotel guy seemed to take it in stride. Apparently it happens a lot, judging by the stock of roof tiles he has. The Hindu-Balinese culture is very strong here. Every shopfront and house has a personal shrine out front. Several times ...
Ubud, Bali, Indonesia youngtravellers... travels of SE Asia. Again the whole journey in the car was brillinat seeing so much and our driver was excellent. We went through Ubud which was to be our next destination after Kuta and I was very impressed. We stopped at the rice terraces which looked spectacular just a shame there were so many people around trying to sell you something. On teh way we get to see a number of villages as we climb up into the mountains. We end up stopping at a restaurant to ...
