Today I had no scheduled classes, so I decided to do something that had been on my mental to-do list for quite a while. I walked across the railway bridge. I'd heard about the ricketty nature of the metal pedestrian lane and thought it sounded interesting, plus I wanted to take some photos as I knew I'd get a different viewpoint of the town than usual. Today, I felt like I would try ...

It was, when all said and done a fairly uneventful train ride. After getting off the train we caught taxis to our next destination, Veliko Turnovo. The drive in was spectacular, as the town is perched on top of a hill with houses clinging to the slopes. ...

Took the train to Veliko Turnovo, a popular tourist town in the mountains of Bulgaria. It is a very nice town with Medieval streets and architecture. It was also the capital of the Second Bulgarian Empire from the 12th to the 14th centuries. Above the town is Tsarevets castle. Also took a day trip to a reconstructed traditional Bulgarian village and an abandoned communist building in the mountains. Check it out, lots of ...
