      Lakes to City

A travel blog entry by thesmithfamily6 on Sep 17, 2014

... boys had discovered a little walk up a creek that led into the lake, it went up to the road above and under. They enjoyed walking hunched over through the drain pipe, trying no to step on the trickle of water at their feet. Wonderful to see them outdoors exploring.

Before long it was time for us to depart, hard to say good bye to Laura as it's unknown when we will see each other again. Great to know she has such a great partner.

I also had time to visit with my grandmother for a few games of Scrabble and some baking. As I prepare for my YAGM year I start to think about all of ...

An ambulance passes. Siren blasting. An argument on a city street. These are the sounds coming in through my window. What I hear are the lake sounds that will be coming in through our vacation cabin windows. Loons in the morning. Motor boats in the afternoon. And in ...

Today we start off at the Coffee Cup in Marquette, which is a locally owned coffee shop and bookstore that sell breakfast and lunch items also. It is family run, and the people there are very hospitable, as are the locals that frequent the place. We then stop to the Farmer's Market for some organic travel goodies and some refreshments for the ...
