Today was absolutely beautiful in Springfield; sunny and high 70s. The show only ran to 2:00 so we were able to get on the road pretty quickly. Got home just after 5:00.
Walked around the city a bit more this morning and checked out the State Capital building-very cool.

Left just after 2:00 and got home at 7:15; not bad at all. Glad to be home and glad that it's a long holiday weekend!

Packing up the car now and we'll be leaving in a couple of minutes. With a lunch stop, we should be arriving in Collinsville, IL ('burb of St. Louis) around 3:30. I'll be filming on the road, so hopefully we see some of the Supercar Reunion peeps on the road.

This is my first entry before I depart for Scotland. I'm studying abroad in Dalkeith, Scotland for the fall semester. I'll be staying in a palace where I'll be eating, sleeping and going to class. Check out the website for the program: http://www.uwrf.edu/wis/.

Presently, Wisconsin is very chilly. I feel like it's October, rather than August. The high is in the very low 60's! Today I've just been working around the house, making bread, washing jackets and getting my room clean.

That's all I got for now, but will write more when I have more!

... our collection of dish towels! Please don't mistake me as being ungrateful. It's nice that they get me anything at all. They also offered to pay for a new cell phone (Palm Pre here I come!). Seeing mom and dad and Lucy of course is always a treat. Even though our time together was short, we got to catch up on developments of their new Florida home, dad's golf game and retirement, and life in general.

... which is never pleasant to do, just as saying goodbye to John's family is no fun either. But they are going to come out and see us soon....right!! After our goodbye we followed Jims team bus over to Rock Island, IL and stayed with him at his college house in the "boom room".....I still don't know what that means. But we did get to play old school Nintendo and had some good hang out time. John and I are old geisers now and got too tired to ...

So, we got of the train half way home and it then starting chucking it down with rain on us...we then discovered that Keane were playing a week later, and we got the date wrong! Nevermind! We went to this bar where they had loads of games so we just stuck there for a few hours, only to discover once we left that we were actually in a gay bar! There was posters everywhere advertising for Mr Gay Icon 2005 - I can't ...

It wasn't until years later when I was doing a lot go driving in Washington DC and trying to maneuver around the circles there with no success, the people in their faster sporty cars like BMW's and Mercedes just ignored my attempts to change lanes. I kept ending up going where I didn't want to go. Then I learned something. Just start moving over into their lane and those jerks will just about wet ...
