... as we had anticipated and the speeds that they reach are amazing. They are fearless!!

As this event is a precursor to the World Championships here in Feb 2015 there were many more sponsors tents and promotions than at Aspen. We visited them all and came away with a bag of goodies - champagne stoppers, key rings, luggage tags, stickers, t shirt, toe warmers, lip balms, several cowbells, picnic rugs, posters and a supply of breakfast/ muesli ...

... Cafe. Obviously the best value place to eat/drink as it is packed every evening. Happy hour is 3-6pm and great value. Local microbrewery beers on tap. Colorado Amber Ale is a favourite of ours. Their Bowl of Chilli is hot, warming and filling. The burgers are fantastic (better than Two Moos), Enchiladas tasty but not sure about the orange cheese, Nachos is superb - a generous portion that well and truly satisfied us for less than $10!

      ... on a daily basis!

Arrived in Beaver Creek and what an amazingly beautiful place this is. Reminds us of the village at Whistler with their trees decorated with lights, snow on the ground and this amazing mountain dominating the scenery. The hotel is right on the slopes so is ski in, ski out. Our room is lovely with a great view of the slopes. Can't wait to try them out tomorrow. Not sure if my knees are looking forward to skiing as much as I ...

After the excitement of the World Cup weekend we needed a quieter day to recharge our batteries. So a sleep in was in order and very much enjoyed. It was another beautiful sunny day so we spent the afternoon exploring the streets of Aspen which originally was an old silver mining town in the 1890s. It was reborn as a skitown in the 1940s and has maintained its popularity as a ski tourist mecca ever since. It is certainly recognised all ...

... a part-time job as a curate, or new priest, in Golden, Colorado, for just a few years out west. I worked in commerical construction and also in nursery (outdoors) work 4 days a week, worked at Saint John Chrysostom Episcopal Church four days a week, and slept when I could. We lived in a 800 square foot 2 story vertical little place in Evergreen near Bergen Park, in a neighborhood called Waukeeny Park that easily could ...
